Skill Set 4
Basics of Hand to Hand Combat
From a good friend, a mixed martial arts instructor and a 267-0 win loss record holder.
Rule 1: Never face your whole body to your opponent. Keep your shoulder facing whoever your fighting and this will make his target smaller and give yourself better footing.
Rule 2: Never go for fakes. This sounds simple, but it is dangerous if you mess up. You must know his range and how easily you can deflect or dodge his attacks. When he swings from to far away, don't let his next closer punch land on you. Understand that not all punches are meant to hit you, but some are to trick you.
Rule 3: Know your range. Know how far your arm extends so that you can know if your next hit will land or not. Know how fast you can move so that you wont over or under estimate yourself. Know your speed and how fast you can do things. You have to know yourself completely.
Rule 4: Always keep your eyes on your opponent's body. Never look into his eyes so that you can react to what can cause damage to you more, his body.
Rule 5: Obviously not every battle is going to be one on one, so if you're fighting more than one person try to put one enemy in front of the others so that you're really fighting one person at a time and not 3 or 4. Your position in the field of battle is important, if your control where you are, you can give yourself the advantage.
One day, laws will crumble, people will degenerate and survival means everything. Today is not that day, but when it comes, hopefully, this skill set of basic and I stress, basic, hand to hand combat will help you survive.
Other sources may help you too and there is no such thing as over preparation, so I recommend going online, or to experts and asking for help in this field too.
