Persuasion
Since persuasion is a useful skill to better yourself in life, I've found some techniques to help you argue the case of your freedom in any situation.
First off, you need to understand what persuasion is. The goal of persuasion is to convince the target to internalize the persuasive argument and adopt this new attitude as a part of their core belief system (http://psychology.about.com/od/socialpsychology/a/persuasiontech.htm).
In Persuasion, there is many techniques. I will only tell you a few of the basics and then lead you into my favorite techniques of persuading others. The first technique I'll teach you is called, humor. Humor is simple and extremely powerful, if you are good at it. If they laugh, then you are one step closer to escaping their grasp. The next basic type of persuasion is called Maybe. Maybe persuasion is using facts that are unproven and could be true. With these basics, you can get past the simplest of people.
When your skills are not enough at this point, you must learn new ways to speak. Charisma is thee (in my opinion) most powerful way of persuading people. You can learn only a little from what you already know. If you really want to learn more, look it up online, while we still have it...
I will only tell you few others before I deem you able to talk circles around those plotting against you. The third skill is called Wording. If you use words that imply things in a bad way, your argument will sound negative, if you argue with words that sound virtuous then your points will seem more virtuous.
Simple solutions are the best solutions, so the more obvious your solution sounds, the less you will need to prove it.
Diversion is simple, I think that killer potato people are a big threat.

Scapegoating is a very dangerous technique. Use this only in extreme situations.
The last skill that I will teach is called the Straw Man. First build up a hypothetical situation and lead the audience to believe that your opponent supports it. If done right, you can make your opposition seem everything from stupid to evil.
With these tips and skills, you will survive the onslaught of humanity.
